Keep Then Out Of The Infirmary
Who the homeless are
When we visit our old home, we see them. Not so many of them because some have gotten old and died. But most of those remaining make our hearts sink and brings us close to tears. Their lippy smile cannot hide the lifeless eyes. Mostly they are hungry but ashamed of their current condition. Pride prevents some from begging while others easily ask for cash, a drink or food.
These are the men and women of our childhood; many having their relatives and friends migrating or simply dying. For them time passes slowly while their savings, if any, dwindles rapidly, then one day they can’t afford the rent, no money to buy clothes or food.
