Help Get Them Off The Streets
The Dirty Homeless Man or Woman
You see the dirty guy lying on the street or the tattered, lumpy dress covering the woman standing at the intersection pleading for help and you ask; why did they end up like this? If you should look closer, you would notice a common thing about both of them; their eyes. Those eyes are tipping you off about emotions of lost promises, with but a twinkle of hope. They are unforgettable! Either warm and gentle or harsh and nervous but unforgettable. Now you wonder, how is it possible for them to get back on their feet?
How can you help a highly educated person working yesterday; a dirty, homeless individual today? So, as she draws closer you look into her eyes, probing for an answer. You see the struggle, the pain of someone longing for a home, for food, for help. You look closer and you notice the soft gaze of a human being; a child -even.
Now it’s not so easy to pass them, to disregard their pain. So, you look deeper into her eyes, your hands slowly moving towards the purse or wallet, reaching for a dollar. You see the glimmer of hope and you know you must help -even further.
